Jánošík's Holes are a set of narrow gorges cut by mountain streams into limestone near Terchová, in Little Fatra National Park. They are divided into the Lower, Upper and New Holes. Trails follow the water through rock passages on wooden ladders, footbridges, steps and chains, past rapids, pools and small waterfalls. The name comes from Juraj Jánošík, the legendary highwayman born in Terchová in 1688.

The gorges stay cool and damp even in summer, and moss and ferns grow on every ledge. After a downpour the stream rises fast and roars through the narrows, the ladders drip, and the sound of water fills the whole canyon.
